Minnesota North Star Academy, as part of the Minnesota Association of Charter Schools, is accountable to the Minnesota Department of Education in assessing students' progress. North Star will comply with mandated Minnesota Statewide Assessment which includes the Basic Skills Tests, Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments, Tests of Emerging Academic English, and Alternative Assessments, and the Minnesota's new Academic Standards. In addition, North Star will also comply with IEP (Individual Education Plan) goals as required by federal IDEA '97 law.
IEP Goals. When a student is identified with a disability, the educational program is required by federal law to provide services to this student. Read more »
Graduation Standards. Unless specified otherwise in the IEP, all Minnesota students are required to meet standards determined by the state of Minnesota. Read more »
